Peanut Butter Jelly - RIP October 2008 - December 2008

So we arrived home late on Saturday after a wonderful Christmas with family only to find that our new puppy Peanut Butter Jelly had been run over....The sheer disappointment on Gage's face was enough to break any mom's heart...And poor Renly she really doesn't know what is going on other than Peanut is now in heaven with Bebo, the first puppy we had this year that I accidentally ran over..Our only guess is that one of our hunter's accidentally ran over him...If only they would have moved him off the road so that Gage and Renly wouldn't have seen him...I am sure that is a sight that will forever be embedded in their head as it will mine...So Gage and Brady had the task of digging a hole in the freezing cold yesterday and laying our precious Peanut to rest down by our barn so that we can go and visit him ever now again...We are done with puppies for awhile...My brothers yellow lab is currently pregnant with pure bred yellow labs so I am guessing that he will give the kids one...

Cast Off Today, Yippy

Renly gets to say farewell to her bubble gum pink cast today....I can only imagine what is going to fall out of it when they cut it off she only stuffs rocks down it everyday at school....I will post pictures tomorrow of her free arm!

Getting home late....

I normally pull into my drive at 5:00 or 5:30 at the latest so I was already not very happy when it was dark (6:15) yesterday...You see we put our Christmas tree up on Sunday and then we put all the ornaments on it on Monday and I started a new family tradition last year...I take the kids to Hobby Lobby and let them pick out 3 ornaments that they can put on the tree...Well Renly bugged me all night on Monday that she wanted more ornaments so I told her that I would take her to Hobby Lobby after school on Tuesday to pick out her ornaments...Now you must keep in mind she is 3 and she is very well how do I put it, picky...So you can only imagine how long it took her to pick out her ornaments when there was 6 aisles of them...Lord have mercy! But we got them picked out well we ended up with 6 rather than 3 but she was very happy...She even told me she wanted to pick one out for my very dear friend Amy and she took her dear sweet time picking out the perfect ornament for Amy...I can't wait to give it to her because she will know that it was picked by Renly and she can treasure it forever!! This little adventure that was supposed to take oh maybe 30 minutes turned into a 2 hour event, I can only imagine what she is going to be like when she gets older....Lord help me!

Peanut strikes.....

This is the shirt that Ginger got and after talking to her at Thanksgiving I am so glad I ordered it!!!!

So when we went on our ladies trip to San Antonio, I convinced Ginger to purchase this very very cute top from The Buckle, as you all know this is one of my favorite stores to shop in...Had they had my size that day I would have bought the same top but they didn't but ever since then I have been thinking of that darn top...Last week I was doing my normal routine and looking to see what was new on their website and I saw it on there and I just decided I needed it along with a new pair of jeans and two other tops!!! Well I didn't need them I just wanted them! As you all already know my jeans are like my children I just love them and I am very protective of them so imagine my surprise when I drove up to my house yesterday and saw this gray looking thing in the drive and about 4 feet away another darker looking thing. It was already dark when I got home that is another story that I will share later! But as I pull in and notice these two things laying in my drive I have no idea what our new Beagle, Peanut has drug up to the house and as I am about to get out of my car I remember that my order from The Buckle was suppose to be delivered today it was at that point that I realized that gray thing was my order from The Buckle and that darker thing was my very precious jeans!!! Needless to say some very foul language started coming out of my mouth as I am searching for the shirt that I so desperately wanted is no where to be found, the other top that I order was still in the bag but the one like Ginger's gone...That was the whole reason I got on their website that day and ended up ordering the other items so I was not a happy person...As I pull into the carport with my shredded Buckle bag, jeans and other shirt I am cussing at my little dog but how was he to know that it was like chewing up hundred dollar bills! I decide to scour the yard in hopes that just maybe he drug my top out there and sure enough it was laying in the yard, no plastic but not a tear or rip on it...Good Dog!!! The remaining top is being delivered at a later date so I can only imagine what that gray Buckle sack will look at!!! You would think that the UPS driver wouldn't lay something at the door with a little puppy running around oh well everything turned out and that is all that matters if it hadn't we might have had a Beagle for sale!

What a busy week.

I went out of town on my first business trip that required a plane ride...I left last Wed and returned on Friday, flew to Charleston, SC with my boss....Met with the corporate folks and hit an Irish pub....My kind of trip! On Saturday we went to what was Gage's last football game of the season and my best friend brought or new puppy to us....Renly decided to name him Peanut Butter Jelly, we are calling him Peanut but she uses his full name! Sunday I took Renly to her first tea party...That was a holy nightmare and probably a one time purchase...She is not a girly girl and does NOT like to get dressed up...Her dress was absolutely beautiful but of course as soon as the tea party was over she wanted it off and wanted back in her comfy clothes! Can't say I blame her but it kinds of broke my heart knowing what I spent on it...She is going to wear it again for her Easter Dress so at least it isn't completely wasted...Monday I decided to stay home and get some things done around the house since I had been gone for 3 days...Gage and I were outside playing tennis and Renly was being the normal wild child that she is and was spinning around and she fell and fractured her wrist...After 2 days and going back and forth from one doctor to another and getting xrays we finally got a cast on it yesterday and she hates that too! I am finding it is hard to please this child, not sure where she gets that from! However I took her to Target and of course she found two new Barbies that made everything ok!!!

Halloween

Brady and I took the kids on a Hayride and Trick or Treating on Friday...I had to help with Gage's Halloween Carnival on Saturday while Brady was doing PR work with his deer hunter's....Yes he skipped out of helping me at the carnival...I rushed home to watch the remainder of the UT game only to see the Raiders win, kinda of disappointed but it was a good game..I am getting ready for my business trip on Wed and I am starting to freak out because I have to fly, I HATE to fly, hate it....To make matters worse Brady won't be with me! As I was packing yesterday I came to realize that I am fat....Jeans that I wore last year to Vegas yeah well I had to suck it in to even get the dang things and then after looking at my butt in the mirror I came to realize that maybe I had eaten to much Halloween candy so I am back on my exercise regiment today which I have been slacking on....Karee and I start Yoga tomorrow at lunch so I am excited for that but the other days I will drag my butt to the track and do what I was doing before so maybe just maybe I can get skinny for our trip to Corpus Christi in December....Wish me luck.

Our new little dog....

So I finally found Renly a new little dog to replace the one that I accidentally ran over...I have been searching and searing all over this state and even in other states and dogs are just ridiculously expensive..My cousin Krystal help me locate this little guy and I am so exited..We are picking him up next weekend. He is coming all the way from Austin but his current owners have a deer lease in Bronte so we are going to met him and take our new puppy home. Gage is very excited and loves the dog, Renly tells me she doesn't like him because he has to much white on his face, she is 3 how does she notice these things....Women!

The Final Tea Party Dress

The shoes......

The dress.....

So some of you know I finally broke down and ordered the most beautiful little girls dress I have ever seen in my life....I bought Renly some shoes on Friday not really knowing if they will work with the dress since I haven't gotten it yet but they were on sale at Dillard's so I thought well if they don't work I will just return them....Should have never shown them to Renly because ever since she put them on she won't take them off....She loves them, she thinks she is a princess when she has them on...Guess we are keeping them regardless if they work with the dress or not!

Not the Final Round

We got a letter on Saturday that Brady wasn't chose for the final round of the Farm Bureau Young Farmer and Rancher contest but we know all of the couples that were chosen and they are all great farmers/ranchers.....So best of luck to the three of them....

First Loss of the Season

Gage and his team lost their first game of the season on Saturday but I must say the team that they played was good and Gage had a wonderful game....He was so excited that he got to play defense he jumped in there two time in a row and got the quarterbacks flags he never had a chance to throw the ball...Good thing because when he did throw it he always threw it to the same kid and that kid was fast....Oh well his team will come in 2nd and still make it to the playoffs....We are proud of him no matter what!

Gouda anyone

On our ladies trip we had a discussion about cheese and my cousin, Ginger, mentioned something about Gouda cheese being really good....So I am in Sam's today to get some gum yes gum, I chew lots and lots of gum...Anyway I was walking past the deli section and saw some Gouda cheese....I read about it and it said it was a buttery tasting cheese that is perfect on sandwiches, crackers, etc...Now I can't stand the hard cheese's, I don't even care for cheddar cheese...My favorite cheese is Muenster, I could eat that cheese all day long...Anyway, I brought the cheese in the office and could not wait to try it fearing that it was going to taste like poo and I had just wasted $6. But to my surprise it was really good, not better than muenster but pretty darn good...Good job Ginger for helping be broaden my horizons!!!

Renly's Tea Party - Dresses....

My favorite out of the three that I bought, they have it online in red and black and I was going to order that one till I decided to order the one that she is going to wear.
My least favorite....
Renly's favorite and it is a beautiful dress but nothing like the one I ordered her....I can't wait...

I went to Dillard's yesterday at lunch in search of the perfect dress for Renly's first Tea Party....I found three and thought I would let her choice the one that she wanted.....She chose the brown one, never would have thought that is what she would pick given that it is not fluffy at all....Not that it matters, I am taking them all back because I decided to buy her the one I found online yesterday morning but really didn't want to spend that much $$ but I just couldn't stop thinking about it....I hope it is as pretty in person as it is in the pictures....Next up the perfect shoes....

Toughest opponent yet....

Gage's football team is playing their toughest opponent to date on Saturday...Both teams are 5-0 and someone is going to be going home with their first loss...It should be interesting...Gage played so good on Saturday, he almost caught a pass to score a touch down but the ball was wet and it slipped right out of his hands, maybe next time! Will keep everyone posted on how they do on Saturday.

Renly's First Tea Party

My mom and I are taking Renly to her first Tea Party on November 9th...So I am on a mission to find the perfect little dress and of course shoes to match....All those of you that know me know that I research things to death until I get so sick of looking I finally just buy it, this is no different!!!! I will post pictures of her in the three dresses that I bought today...Not sure if we are keeping any of them but I needed a starting point..

Tests that were supposed to be so simple turned into an all day event....

Because of all the stomach issues that Brady has been having his gastro doctor advised him to get a colonscopy done. He scheduled it for last Friday. He sends me to the pharmacy to pick up this list of stuff he is suppose to take before this procedure is done, so I drop off his prescription with the pharmacist and I return about 20 minutes later with everything on the list but the prescription. So I proceed to the counter to pick up what I am thinking is a bottle of pills only to find that it was a big gallon of stuff. I looked at the lady behind the counter as if she was crazy while I proceeded to say "Holy crap!" The lady in line behind me starts laughing and says it really isn't that bad and I proceed to tell her that, that was not for me! I begin my journey home to deliver all of the items to Brady so he can begin this nasty process of drinking all this liquid. I must say I am not looking foward to ever having to do this after watching him drink that gallon of stuff and then a bottle of liquid laxative and spend the entire evening in the potty...What fun is that!
His appointment was at 8:15 on Friday so we promptly arrive at 8:15, write a very large check and then sit and wait and wait and wait some more. Finally after an hour they call us back. Brady woke up with a pounding headache and of course he was starving because he couldn't eat anything after midnight. So we go back and they do the normal stuff you do before surgery and then we wait and wait some more....Brady wanted me to go and get his oil changed and his pickup washed so I finally said I am leaving I will be back later....An hour later my cell starts ringing just as I am walking back in the surgery center...The doctor tells me that he didn't see anything abnormal on the large intestine but because of Brady's symptoms he wants him to go to the hospital and have an upper GI, by this time it is already 12:30 and I am starving so I can only imagine how Brady is feeling...He comes out of his deep sleep and his head is still pounding only to find out that he can't take anything because we have to venture to the hospital for another test....He was not a happy camper....He gets dressed and we drive downtown to the hospital, go to registration, write another big check...It was a spendy day...And then walk to radiology where we wait, wait and wait some more...Now all of you that know me can only imagine what I am thinking at this point, I am not the most patient person on earth! Finally they call him back and an hour and half passes by and I don't hear anything from anyone, finally a man comes out and tells me I can go back and sit with him...Well I am thinking that he is done only to find out that now they have to take xrays every 30 minutes, so I go in to this massive xray room and Brady is laying on this xray table still with his pounding headache and stomach growling...He falls asleep on and off and I finally told him that I could not sit in there any longer I was literally going out of my mind....So I went walking around the hospital and got a soda and a healthy Butterfinger to eat....I make my way back to Radiology hoping and praying that he is done....Nope sure isn't, so I sit there and wait and wait and wait, nothing for 2 hours not even a peep from anyone....Every time that door would open to the radiology rooms I would look and hope that it was Brady walking out only to find that it wasn't Brady walking out I would turn around and proceed to say alot of fowl language to myself...Finally the xray lady comes out (note it is now a lady because they had a shift change, yes he was there that long!) and she could tell that I was very annoyed, I mean VERY annoyed. So she showed me the pictures and what they were waiting for, Brady had to drink this really thick liquid, I mean the cup felt like lead and before he could leave it had to reach his large intestine well by this time it is still sitting in the same exact spot as it was 3 hours ago! I looked at that xray lady and said are you freaking kidding me that could take forever....She was not sympathetic at all...I told Brady I had to get out of there so I left and went shopping....An hour later he sends me a text message and says come get me please, so I am thinking oh thank god he is done....Nope I get there and he is still in his hospital gown and I look at him and say WTF! He said I have to wait for her to come back and tell me I can go....I said well why did you tell me to come get you, I was shopping for gosh sake...So finally at about 5:15 he is allowed to leave...We immediately went and picked up Renly and went and got a very large ribeye at Texas Roadhouse....What was suppose to be a very simple thing turned into an all day event...The surgery center nurse told us when we left there to go to the hospital oh it will only take an hour, an hour my ass...

Feeling a bit better today....

I decided I needed to come to work today since I will be at the surgery center most of the day tomorrow with Brady....Feel fine until I eat and we all know how much I love to eat so I am fighting a losing battle here....Hopefully I will be better by Sunday since it is our church festival and I have to work and it tends to be an all day event!!! If you guys don't have anything to do on Sunday come out and enjoy the fun and games at St. Ambrose in Wall....

On a side note, I am sick to death of listening to these politicians, I am ready for the election to be here and over with just so I don't have to listen to them anymore.....Starting to get on my nerves.

Gage wins 1st Place for his Fire Prevention Poster

I picked up Gage from football practice on Tuesday and he says nothing all the way home and as soon as we walk in the door he says "I won first place for my fire prevention poster!" I was shocked and had no idea he had even done a poster, back when I was in school we had to do those at home but apparently they do them at school now a days, good thing because I am not the crafty type! Anyway he won $3 and he was so proud as were we!! Brady normally judges the contest so I figured that he had already seen Gage's poster but he didn't judge this year so we are both patiently waiting for Gage to bring the poster home so we can see his little creation!!!

Being Sick is NO fun at all

Well I am at home today with something, not sure what. Have been waking up with a killer headache since Sunday....Stomach is a mess, as soon as I eat anything its almost immediately nauseated. Yuck, I wish this bug would leave my body because I am not a person that likes to be sick.....

Renly's new necklace

Renly girl with her new necklace....She was so proud of it! She said "Thank You Mommy it is so beautiful!"
Renly again with her new necklace....

Brady bought Renly some beads way back in April when we went to this huge flea market and I just got around to making her a necklace yesterday. I have been telling her and telling her to that I would make her one and she finally made me do it yesterday! The flower beads are the ones that Brady bought her and she wanted the other beads on there too, I wasn't so sure about the two together but it really turned out so cute...She had to wear it to school today, I hope it makes it home in one piece....

Pumpkin Carving Time....

Me and the Kids...Brady took this picture and it is really fuzzy for some strange reason!
This is about as involved as Renly got....She is actually eating for a change and notice her shoes...For some reason she always picks these two shoes to go together, not sure why because she is a fanatic about things matching...
Renly sitting on the pumpkins....
Brady, Gage, Renly and Scrappy with the pumpkins
Renly and Gage doing a silly picture....
Gage and Renly with the pumpkins
Renly giving Gage a smile....
Gage with his silly sunglasses that he won at the festival....

Gage cleaning out a pumpkin
More cleaning, Renly refused to put her hands in the pumpkin
Me carving away on my pumpkin
Our pumpkins, I have since cleaned all the marker marks off of them so they look much better now.....Gage is on the right mine is on the left, you can't see all the little dimple like things on the cheeks, those were a pain in the butt, I broke two carving tools trying to do them...
The skull pumpkin, Brady did an awesome job....

Brady carving away on the skull pumpkin

We decided to carve our pumpkins after we got home from the Olfen Church Festival on Sunday....Course I had printed off tons of patterns to use not thinking of how difficult they all were...Brady is none to happy with me I guess he realized that they were all pretty difficult! Gage chose a skull pattern and I chose a more simple one so I thought. Gage also decided to carve just a more traditional pumpkin and Renly well we didn't get around to carving hers, we ran out of time!!! We promised that we would do it on Monday and well that didn't happen either, maybe on Wed.....
